**Crossroads Vocalists
we have some INCREDIBLY EXCITING NEWS for you! We’ve heard your requests for a strong vocal teacher to lead and help with Crossroads classes, and we are so excited and proud to report that we have found the PERFECT PERSON. Sandy Griffith is an accomplished professional vocalist and vocal teacher. Gifted with a strong, rich, and soulful voice, Sandy can move the soul of the audience with her emotional energy and angelic-like presence. Sandy is the answer to Crossroads’ search for a wonderful professional vocal coach – she is (in addition to being a top notch performer with an amazing voice) warm, funny, smart and sweet, but also hard-nosed and very effective and direct when it comes to teaching vocalists. She knows what she’s doing as a teacher and does it well. Really well.

Sandy has worked with many major music industry performers. Her impressive talent credits include stints with top recording artists such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Al Jarreau, Howard Hewitt, Patti Austin, Oleta Adams and Regina Belle. Not to mention her large tour resume featuring Boz Scaggs, Huey Lewis and the News, Kenny Loggins, Howard Hewitt and Jonathan Butler.

Recently, Sandy completed the 2006 soundtrack for "Rent" the movie and is a featured performer at Harry Denton's Starlight Room in San Francisco. Sandy is a three time Star Search winner. Her web site is www.sandygriffith.com

Sandy will be teaching vocal classes and vocalists in band and performance classes for Crossroads starting this next January 2010 semester. We are still in the process of configuring the classes for her, but please let us know if you are interested in taking a class which includes her. We are certain her classes will be instantly oversubscribed, so if you have interest, you’ll need to let us know RIGHT AWAY!

*The Band Workshops is a 9-week journey, an opportunity for new and experienced musicians who are looking for a fun, supportive environment in which to explore music in a band setting. Combining a set of songs picked by the group, using individual and group exercises and positive feedback, this course will provide a nurturing chance to learn all about playing and performing in a group setting. Taught by Michael LaMacchia and his cadre of seasoned, supportive, professional musicians. The 9-week program ends with a performance at The Sweetwater in Mill Valley, CA. All The Basic Band Workshops Will Be offered as well, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, Country, Original, Specialty Classes etc. First Come First Serve.

***SING WITH THE MICHAEL LA MACCHIA TRIO
Because of the large demand for vocalist classes, Crossroads will continue this semester the EXCITING PREMIUM seven week “private sessions” class called “SING WITH THE MICHAEL LA MACCHIA TRIO”. ****Jazz Instrumental Class
The jazz classes will include more listening and responding exercises, more focus on arrangements and composition, sight reading, and some chord and scale theory. Of course the emphasis will be on playing, and playing as a group to get “the” sound.
