Bluegrass Workshops

No one will doubt you when you declare Mr. Bill Monroe (correctly pronounced “MONroe” with a slight twang) to be the “founding father” of bluegrass music. When the Blue Grass Boys formed in 1939 nobody knew that a new musical genre was being born. By 1945 with the addition of banjo player Earl Scruggs, singer/guitarist Lester Flatt, fiddler Chubby Wise and bassist Howard Watts, aka “Cedric Rainwater,” a definitive sound had been created and an instrumental configuration had been put in place that remains a model to this day.  If you like mandolin, fiddle, guitar, banjo and upright bass and a high lonesome vocal sound, then our bluegrass classes are for you.  With generous pickin’ and grinnin’, and a heapin’ helpin of our hospitality, you’ll be signin’ up for a classes at this locality…Mill Valley that is….swimmin’ pools and movie stars….and lotsa bluegrass….ya’ll sign up now, ya here?
